Gold Medal Behavior

As we are finally winding down our ABC book, my plans for the Letter V were a bit of a well... complete flop. What to do, what to do??? Brain storm and act quick!!! Since the Winter Olympics are upon us and our memory verse for V is: ..victory rests with the Lord Proverbs 21:31 I thought doing something with a "medal theme" would work perfectly!!! And that is how our Gold Medal Behavior Charts were born. Most of these verses came from Character Trait Memory Verse Cards for Children, but a few I changed. Be Helpful

When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it.

Be Forgiving

to Anger

We will print out each chart, cut them up and store in baseball card page protectors.

Next I'll print out 6 "medals" for each child and laminate them.


Through out the day, when they practice one of their "Gold Medal Behavior" I will award them with a Gold Medal Badge.

That's a great idea for a behavior chart and even better that you related it to something fun that's going on right now. Creative!! Are they winning gold so far?

I love this system. I've been brainstorming and pushing ideas around in my head, trying to figure out a child-friendly way to encourage my children to demonstrate Godly character. Typically, we have reflected on verses, but it is far easier to use them to correct a "wrong" behavior than to reward "good" behavior. I love this system for that reason ... it is about rewarding their Godly character! I think I will use a modified version of this for my littles. Thanks for the ideas and the method of applying scripture to positive behavior!
