Lord Teach Me To Pray: Day 2

July 4, 2009

Luke 11: 5-8, to me, is all about persistence. But why? I think it is to shed light, for our benefit, of why are we really praying. Is it just because of a moments desire or are we sincerely seeking to fulfill God's will for our lives or the specific situation. Fleshly desires are temporal but the desires God puts within our very being, those last the test of time. Ask, Seek, and Knock Jesus continues in verse 9-10.

Ask: that which you desire.
Seek: will it last the test of time
Knock: before the Lord lay your petition.

What is your take on Luke 11:9-10?

Father, show us the truth about our discipline in spending time with You. Let us begin to be honest about our true desire of prayer and mold us into a disciple that desires to be in the very presence of our Mighty King. It is in Your presence that Your will becomes visible and in Your presence that we can be confident that our desires are from you and not to please our flesh. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen
