Merry CHRISTmas

As the year draws to a close we have much to be thankful for! It has been such an adventure settling into our very own home in NC. Big Daddy received word in November that he has been selected for promotion and we are so proud of him. He is also serving as our church’s AWANA TNT Director and Young Adults Sunday School teacher. This year involved several surgeries for him and he no longer needs glasses!!! L2L is very busy keeping up with lesson plans for 3 children, teaching at our local homeschool group, serving as our church’s AWANA Commander and will begin teaching the 1st-3rd grade Sunday School in the new year. LJ has become quite the skateboarder. He is doing well with his lessons and continues to excel in his TNT handbook. He completed his first year of Coach pitch baseball and began jazz lessons in September. JJ is enjoying his final year in Sparks and working hard so he can go to Camp-A-Rama. He is trying his hand at skateboarding and rollerblading but enjoys his Wii and DS the most. He is doing great with his lessons, “played” his first and only year of T-ball and participated on his first bowling league. CJ is growing up too fast!! She participated in her first dance recital in May and beauty pageant in June taking home most photogenic and 1st runner up. School is fun for her right now as she is learning so much side by side with the boys in History and Science. We are very thankful to call ourselves homeschoolers for yet another year. Our family wishes you a blessed New Year and Christ-centered Christmas!!!

What's Up Wednesday: Merry Christmas

Well it's all said and done!!! My 12 weeks to Christmas turned out pretty good. I didn't get everything done but do have a great game plan for next year. So what about this year?? Well I'm turning off the computer and enjoying family time and celebrating the true reason for the season: Jesus!!!!!!
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year

2010 was such a busy year for our family and full of many blessings: healthy kids, fruitful marriage, moving back to the States, purchasing our 1st home, getting a brand new car, finally being with family for the holidays. And as much as all these things are truly a blessing, God is really moving in our hearts and challenging us to go beyond these earthly and temporal blessings and seek out heavenly treasures. As we have begun to settle into a new routine and new home we are looking around to see how we can be a light in our neighborhood. We have settled in with our new family church at Providence Baptist Church and greatly enjoying all the outreach opportunities they provide for us to take part in. The kids are adjusting well to the American culture and Big Daddy is busy as ever at MARSOC. AWANA is now a family affair as LJ is in his 2nd year of T&T, JJ is in his 2nd year of Sparks and CJ is enjoying her 1st year of Cubbies. Big Daddy is the T&T leader and I am helping out with Sparks this year!!! The kids and I keep busy with our home school Co-Op, Pre-K Story Time, gymnastics, dance and our weekly visits to Glen Care. And although life keeps us very busy we are never too busy to entertain visitors and do hope that 2011 will find you visiting us in our new home!!! May you have a blessed New Year and Christ centered Christmas celebration!!

Jobe Family Update

Wow, it seems like we blinked and this year was over with!!! It’s hard to believe that this year is almost over with. But reality is soon we will close the door on 2009 and rush head first into 2010! Our family is excited and ready to meet the challenges that lay ahead for our family but we want to take time to reflect and give thanks on the wonderful year the Lord blessed us with! 2009 found Big Daddy very busy with work and church and keeping up with the kids and making L2L a very happy wife!!!! I’m not sure what I did with this year but know that homeschooling, AWANA, and homemaking have kept me very busy and I feel very blessed with the amazing husband and children I wake up to each morning! I would have to say the biggest highlight of LJ’s year would have to be, hands down, his baptism in the East China Sea on May 31, 2009. He continues to amaze us with his maturity, quick wit and physical ability on wheels daily!! On October 13, 2009 JJ joined us as a family of believers in Christ and I was very blessed to be able to help him in asking Christ into his heart. He has become a soft hearted, comical young boy who loves to ride bikes with his dad and if given the chance would play PS2 ALL day long!! CJ has grown leaps and bounds this year and has an amazing ability to communicate her desires. She can put a smile on anyone’s face and has added dancing to her list of hobbies this year. As we look back at 2009 we feel very blessed by all that has been provided to us and sing praises to God for being our family’s Rock! We pray you have a wonderful New Year and had a Christ filled Christmas!
