Attitude is contagious

If you have been reading my blog for at least 6 months you know that we had the pleasure of living on the sunny island of Okinawa, Japan or as I often referred to it "The Rock." As all good thing must come to an end, our journey back to the States began early, and I mean 3:30 AM early on July 3rd. And boy was it an adventure.

I'll set up this post by saying that to really know me is to know that 1)I speak my mind and 2) I try hard to find the positive in all situations.

Now back to our journey home. We get to the AMC termanial just before 5AM for our 7:30AM roll call which didn't even start till after 8ish and we were suppose to depart Kadena at 8:30AM. Yep it's that all too familiar hurry up and wait syndrome that is synonymous with the military. I didn't take notes but remember that we didn't even walk out to the plane till around 9:45AM and then my husband drops the bomb on me, oh by the way we have 2 layovers in mainland. Great!!!!!! We do the first layover like traveling pros as we sit on the airplane for 45 minutes while they unload and load new passengers. At the next stop, everyone has to get off as they fuel and change crews. This is only suppose to take an hour and they give us about 30 minutes to get something to eat if we want it. At this point all I remember is them giving us a 2:45PM deadline of when to be back in the waiting area. I'll fast foward to around 4:30PM when we finally got back onto the airplane with no explanation of why it took so long or even that there was going to be a delay. Nice huh. But it gets even better, after we get on board the plane doesn't even take off till 7:25 PM. During which until I started requesting food they didn't give us anything until around 7:10pm and that was only after I asked twice when were they going to feed the children since we couldn't get off the plane.Thankfully the started handing out peanuts, not much but it was something. (Now mind you that if parents didn't rush around like mad people during the layover, their children may not have been fed since breakfast!)  I was greatly upset because the crew acted like we were being such a bother in asking for food to feed the kids!!!! Not to mention how the pilot continued to remind us that he and his crew had missed their connecting flights and were in the same boat as us. I wont even continue down that trail.

What, exactly, is my purpose in writing all this? Not to complain but to show you how it's all about your view point and how 1 person can really make a difference. See sitting behind the 2 rows my husband and the boys were sitting in were 4 children plus their mom who was pregnant. Please note that she was not traveling with her husband and she certainly wasn't traveling alone with 4 children that were under the age of 8. As you can imagine her kids in front of her, all three sisters, were getting a bit rowdy, needing this and that. And with being pregnant it was easy for her to get up and help them out. So guess what I did, I helped out without her asking, without worrying if she would be offended and without worrying if the kids would allow me. I started entertaining the 2 closest to me, helping them get comfortable and lent a helping hand. Something neat happened!!! All those glaring and judgmental eyes started to soften. As our 13 hour flight progressed those around these kids and mother started helping out when meals needed to be opened or kids got cranky. Heck I even saw a young service member letting one of the little girls play with his iphone as the mom slept. I don't think we ever got a thank you, but I don't think any of us helped out to be recognized. We did it to bless those children and in return bless that mom. I pray that those children will have a found memory of that flight and that seeds of kindness were planted in their hearts.

I think of that day often and praise God for allowing that mother and her children to fly with us. It would have been so easy to get wrapped up in all that was going wrong and truth be told, I did need an attitude adjustment several times. But how blessed we were that God gave us a way to take a miserable situation and glorify Him through our service to that family. I think that is what it is always about, looking at a situation and seeing how YOU can make it better; instead of throwing out criticism and judgment. What I thought was even neater is that several days before, we had a discussion in our community group about loving on children.  And as this whole event unraveled in front of me, I really felt like God was saying: "Okay, now you "know" what to do but will you put it in practice." I'm certain looking back, that I could have done more, been more kind, ect but I don't think that is the point. I think the point is walking in obedience to God's love that he declared on the cross through Christ. It's about saying, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." I know that my flesh was crying out: "she needs to get those kids under control", or "why have so many if you can't take care of them", and "why is she expecting us to take care of her children for her". But as those thoughts flooded through my very drained and tired mind, I kept reminding myself that I am only responsible for how I react to those children and that woman and I knew that God would want me to do all that I could to help those children out. So I stepped up in full faith and obedience and was greatly blessed as this attitude caught on and all those around took those children under their wings and for the time they were present in their lives, showed them kindness that I pray lingers in their hearts well into adulthood when they can look back and see how God provided for them that day!!!!

There is so much that we can't change but sadly most of what we could change we don't because our focus in inward instead of upward. The next time you are out and become critical of someone else... S-T-O-P those thoughts and ask God to guide you in a way that will impact that person's life with the presence of God through you!!!! I guarantee you will be amazed at what God can do when you have a willing heart!!!

Sunday

Getting it all done

Fat chance!! I don't think there is a single day where all that I "planned" to get done is completed. There are however somethings that I "must" get done and I have a check list, of sorts, that I keep up on my refrigerator to help me stay focused through out my day.

Well I wrote notes on the pic but you can't read them :( Basically on the left is my daily "must do's" as I do them I put a check mark by it.

At the bottom left is my to do list. I usually start that at the beginning of each month and don't add to it until I have all the items accomplished.

On the right is my weekly calendar. I am really big about planning ahead with our schedule so once I have our schedule up for the week, I don't usually add to it. This helps me from falling into the trap of being so busy.

Recently the Lord placed upon my heart about teaching my children to be still before the Lord. Now I'm not talking about sitting in a chair without moving. No rather I feel the Lord is showing me to help my children establish a habit, early on, about ensuring they have carved out time for Him daily. So often our schedules are filled with alot of good activities but they are not the best activities.

The Lord has also shown me to stop trying to take so many short cuts. I shouldn't always be trying to make 30 minute meals for my family just so I can attend this function or get this activity squeezed into our day. At the beginning of the year, God confirmed our desire to home school and gave me some great advice on how to do it and still be a happy family."Brandy I have called you and your husband to home school. So if there is anything that prevents you from doing this, then that is NOT my will for you at this time!!!" I just love it when God is straight and to the point with me!!! So through much prayer God has given me the goal of making our lives non busy so that our days are set up to enable stillness before the Lord.

I have been doing this for about 3 weeks, and I will tell you, it has made a difference in my own continence with my children and provided so much more time before the Lord each day. I'm not as quick to get frustrated with the children as I am not feeling pulled in all directions. It has actually made going with God's flow for the day more easy and I am able to enjoy all those wonderful surprises He has waiting for me!!!

So as Resurrection Sunday approaches, I would encourage you to cut out some of the business of your life so that you can really be before the Lord as you prepare your heart to celebrate His Glorious Resurrection!!!

Is that so....

We had a very motivating, encouraging, and eye opening guest speaker at church yesterday. (Don't forget I live in Japan) Mark Cahill, was spot on in all that he shared with our congregation. I thought it was so telling when he shared with us that instead of asking "How can I share my faith" you should be asking "How can I NOT share my faith." It was awesome to see the truth of the Gospel just renew our church and I could see God light the desire of sharing Jesus with the lost, person after person. People, that is what it is all about!!! Churches joining together and going out to proclaim the Gospel of Christ!! I'm not sure how many people caught it, as I almost missed it when Mark said "Satan couldn't stop 12 men from spreading the news of Christ and there is no way he could stop a whole church." How true, how true. So why don't we spread the truth of Christ?

I think one of the reasons is judgment, on our part. Mark Cahill gave a couple of examples about how the media does not tell the whole story and then he brought up Tiger Wood. Who doesn't know about what is going on in his life? What a blessing, I thought, it was when he brought that into perspective as he asked us: "Who would want their sins, their thoughts, their hearts posted up on that screen for all to see? Be thankful your sins are not broad casted for all to know." Oh how true, how true. As I laid in bed last night , " We don't hate the sinner, we hate the sin" kept popping in my mind. And then I began to ponder more, yes I think I do talk to myself as I answered that thought: "If that is the case, why do so many Christians allow, excuse, tolerate (you put in what ever word works for you) in our own lives? We don't hate sin, we hate getting caught!" Oh I can go on and on with more but my point is our churches would be more opened armed with all the lost if we really grasped the depravity of our own state. If we realized that in our flesh we are no better than other person on this Earth. There is nothing that we have done, said, taught, preached, made, or sacrificed that has made us look any better in God's eyes. Nothing!!! It is only through Christ that we are pleasing in His eyes and it is only as Christ works in us to transforms us do we begin to change. We don't change on our own, we don't change ourselves. It is Christ that changes us and until we, as Christians, grasp that and begin to live in that truth our nation will not change.

Mark spoke about what would it take to get our attention? What will it take to get your attention? Jaque Shank ,founder of Visionwriters International once said "God comes to you the easiest way you let Him." So the question then becomes what have you put between you and God? Only you can answer that and only through our Savior Jesus Christ can God change the desires of your hearts.

I would encourage you to check out Mark's website: Mark Cahill Ministries. I know I am very excited to read both his books: One Heart Beat Away and One Thing You Can't Do In Heaven.

A New Season, A New Way

September 27,2009

Jeremiah 24:6-7 My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them. I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.

Sometimes my heart is bigger than my ability to do all that I wish to do. Recently though the Lord showed me it wasn't so much that I couldn't do all the things I was wanting to do. Nope, it was that which I was doing really wasn't what He had placed in my heart to do. My flesh was fooling my heart into doing what I had always been told I should do. After all, when we are young we are told we need to go to college. I didn't make it past the first semester of stenography school. Not because I didn't pass but because school wasn't really what I was wanting to do and I wasn't willing to work myself to death to get an education. So off to the career thing: I joined the Marine Corps and was doing great, was promoted meritoriously; then I became pregnant for the second time, my first ended in a miscarriage, and I decided to not re-enlist. That answered the big decision to stay at home. Fast forward 7 years and here I am. A homeschooling mom of three and military wife who loves to sew and scrapbook. But there it is, the problem that I have been struggling with for the last 3 years or so. I bet you didn't even catch it, or did you? Sometimes it's easier to see the issue when you are looking from the outside in. I have created this haven and home around my role as M-O-M. Forgetting first that I was a W-I-F-E. And this imbalance has caused me to put on the back burner the most important fact: I am a D-A-U-G-H-T-E-R of the King.

This is where Jeremiah 24:6b has come into play: "I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord." See I have been silent, not talking just listening to the Lord. (Which has reflected on my blog in the form of no posts.) The silence was a bit longer than I imagined but to finally heard Him, wow it made me realize how much I had drowned out the beckoning of His voice. God revealed, to me, that what was making me so discontent was the fact that I was racing after things that wouldn't make me really happy anyway. The desire that God has placed in my heart is to be at home, where the distractions of the world will not lead me away from Him. And although I greatly enjoy being a mother it was the fact that I was not fulfilling my vows to God as a wife that opened the door for my wayward thinking. To have such truth revealed by God and not discovered "on my own" has been humbling. Yes, I have gone down the guilt trip road but for now I'm working on how to adjust my thinking to being a stay at home wife, instead of stay at home mom. Which has brought such a sense of peace into my life.

So if you are married and have kids and feel like there is "something" missing, chances are it is not a career, stylish clothes, a rockin ministry, or even a Martha Steward home. Rather it may be God gently tugging you back to Him and holding you accountable to those vows you spoke in His name. So join me now as I start a new season in my life, a new way of thinking: Hello, I am L2L a stay at home wife of an amazing husband, whom I have 3 beautiful children with and have the amazing pleasure of educating them at home! I'm so glad you stopped by and hope you enjoy your visit!!

Forgiveness: Part 1

Forgiveness. What great freedom and truth are found in this one word. And yet what mass confusion there is about what forgiveness is and requires. I have experienced myself that forgiveness is a journey, a way of life. My relationship with Christ has shown me that on the path to forgiveness there are 4 mile stones most people go through or stumble upon. This week I would like to talk about The Corner Stone of forgiveness: Jesus Christ.

All journey's must begin somewhere and I firmly believe that to even get on the path of forgiveness you MUST first have a understanding of why Jesus' life, death, and resurrection are so crucial to our salvation. Ponder this, how amazing that before you or I were even born all our sins were forgiven. We have been pardoned from our offense and the payment of our debt has been paid in full by Jesus Christ when he rose from the dead and ascended to his rightful place beside God. And even though this gift of salvation is free; there is no work on our part to be done for this forgiveness of our sin (remember the price has already been paid), unless we accept this forgiveness we live a life in bondage to sin. Forever separated from God. I like the way Biblos.com states it:

" The effect of forgiveness is to restore to its former state the relationship which was broken by sin. Such a restoration requires the cooperation of both parties. There must be both a granting and an acceptance of the forgiveness. Sincere, deep-felt sorrow for the wrong which works repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10) is the condition of mind which insures the acceptance of the forgiveness."

The willingness to give forgiveness has already happened. Through Christ's obedience to death, God raised Him up and forever broke the chains of death on each believer. And just like any gift when it is given, it must be received. This is the first step and the corner stone of forgiveness: Accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.

His Word is Alive

April 13, 2009

It never fails to amaze me at the mighty power of God's Word. If you read yesterday's post, I talked about walking down a dark path into the very depths of who I am; not sure whether I was willing to do it or not. And then I read these verses from yesterday's reading:

22-23 Then Samuel said,
Do you think all God wants are sacrifices—
empty rituals just for show?
He wants you to listen to him!
Plain listening is the thing,
not staging a lavish religious production.
Not doing what God tells you
is far worse than fooling around in the occult.

So for me the confusion is gone, I will walk this path to the very depths of who I am, but I know that I am not alone and that Christ will walk it with me. I see that to truly move beyond the cross and start living for Christ, I must face that which nailed Him to the Cross, my sin, my grudges, my past, my disobedience, all of who I once was, I feel, I am being lead to lay it all out for Christ to shine His light on so that it no longer lingers in the back of my mind causing me to stumble and giving Satan a foot hold into my thoughts. Yes, I am ready to face it all, maybe not share it all with the world but with the one who can heal all hurt, Jesus. He came to make us whole and holy. We are completed through salvation and through sanctification we shine of His Glory!!!!

Father, that you love me sooo much, is humbling. That you have such great things in store for me is awesome!! I know that there is much to be done in me and if this is my valley of the shadow of death, just as David said, I will not fear for you are with me. To give all my life to you, is to face the past and hand it over to You, releasing it and the burden that weights me down upon your shoulders to bear for me. Once I do that then and only then may I be able to pick up your yoke and carry it. My valley is deep but you are greater than it and I put my faith and trust in you and you alone. I am listening and I am ready to obey!! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen

Worship With Me Sunday

April 12, 2009

He Has Risen.... He Has Risen Indeed.

This year as I face the cross there is something going on within my very soul that has me asking myself this question: "You know what Christ did for you on the cross but are you ready to let Him continue with what work He has to do in you?" I am at a cross roads of sorts. I am at that most inner part within me that I feel we all hide from Christ and all others at some point. That most ugly part of us that we refuse to let Him shine his light on and so there it remains as we learn to keep it hidden and under wraps. That is until Christ leads us back there and asks: "Are you ready to surrender it all to me yet?" All I have professed to be true and that I believe to be true, its validity hangs on my very response to Christ. Do I say "Yes" and there for reveal all that I desire for even myself not to be reminded of because it truly will cause me to hang my head in shame, horror, embarrassment? Or do I say "I Can't Lord, I just can't." And continue to let the shadows of doubt cover over this very part of me. Either way I know my acceptance by Christ is not at stake, but there is a battle within my very self that does tell me much rides on this decision. And so here I am at the door of my heart looking in and wondering what will I have enough courage to do, ring the door bell, peak in the window, or reach out, grab that door knob and open the door to the very depths of who I am and say "Savior, this is all you died for and I am sorry." Oh I know what I need to do, but will I do it? Before you judge quietly remember even Christ for told that "The Spirit is Willing, But the Flesh is Weak." And so that is where I stand today, wanting to make a decision that is decisive and full understanding the weight of my decision, yet not fully aware of all the consequences that will result. So today my friends, if you would like to worship with me we will do so in complete silence. That we may ride our hearts of all distractions and listen not only to the Lord but get real with where we really are in our allegiance to God and how comfortable we have become in this world. And so I pray.......
Dear Lord, I want this decision I am going to make be one that is done through a deep desire to give all to You, not just because I know I need to. You have shown me so much this week and although I know there is so much at hand I stand here at the door of my heart, taking deep breaths wondering am I really ready. I don't want my "Yes" to be a knee jerk reaction but a confident "Here we go Lord, for You lets go into the darkness together." Give me strength, give me wisdom, and let not my faith dwindle but be renewed and transforming. Oh Savior that is my prayer today, transform us and let Your light shine into all the dark places we hide from You, from ourselves so that we can truly be all that You died for us to be!!! In Your name we pray, Amen

Where's Your Money

March 16, 2009

Deuteronomy 15:
1-3 At the end of every seventh year, cancel all debts. This is the procedure: Everyone who has lent money to a neighbor writes it off. You must not press your neighbor or his brother for payment: All-Debts-Are-Canceled—God says so. You may collect payment from foreigners, but whatever you have lent to your fellow Israelite you must write off.

4-6 There must be no poor people among you because God is going to bless you lavishly in this land that God, your God, is giving you as an inheritance, your very own land. But only if you listen obediently to the Voice of God, your God, diligently observing every commandment that I command you today. Oh yes—God, your God, will bless you just as he promised. You will lend to many nations but won't borrow from any; you'll rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

7-9 When you happen on someone who's in trouble or needs help among your people with whom you live in this land that God, your God, is giving you, don't look the other way pretending you don't see him. Don't keep a tight grip on your purse. No. Look at him, open your purse, lend whatever and as much as he needs. Don't count the cost. Don't listen to that selfish voice saying, "It's almost the seventh year, the year of All-Debts-Are-Canceled," and turn aside and leave your needy neighbor in the lurch, refusing to help him. He'll call God's attention to you and your blatant sin.

10-11 Give freely and spontaneously. Don't have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers God, your God's, blessing in everything you do, all your work and ventures. There are always going to be poor and needy people among you. So I command you: Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbors in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbors.

As I was reading this it really struck me at how greedy as a Nation we have become. If on a whole we lived by the 7 year rule, how much more we would be able to provide for the poor. Some of us would love to help others but can't because of the overwhelming debt that has enslaved us. It is an amazing feeling when bills are not breathing down our necks, how we "tell" our money where to go each month, vice our money limiting us with what we can do. We have become so radical with how we manage our money and will not go into debt for anything! God has been able to provide for us in such amazing ways since we decided to live debt free. We can now serve God with our whole paycheck and not just a 10th of it. 2 years ago we stepped foot on the path to becoming debt free and were able to accomplish that last summer. What we have worked on since then is the discipline of delayed gratification. That means just because we can buy something doesn't mean we do. My husband does an awesome job at setting aside monthly for an emergency fund, car maintenance and building a safety nest in our checking account. I can not explain to you the freedom from not having to worry about money. I pay all our expenses at the beginning of each month and that is it. What use to take hours to figure out now takes about 15 minutes each month!!! What freedom there is knowing that everything else can go where God desires and we have the ability to help others out during these economically challenging time. If you can't say the same, seek God's wisdom on how you can get out of the bondage of debt so that you can serve God with all He blesses you with; no strings attached!!!!!

Here is some info I thought you might enjoy.
First Credit Cards

Brief History of US Banks

Have you crawled out from the depths of debt also? What method did you use? For us we stopped the use of credit AND debit cards and became disciplined through the cash only rule. If we didn't have the cash it didn't get purchased. This helped us to think about what we would need in the future, over come our impulse buying, and stick to our budget. I remember rolling coins because I needed gas, I had "borrowed" money from my auto envelope so I could eat out. As I placed each coin into the wrapper I became convicted of how undisciplined I really was and lets just say I've never had to roll coins again. (And I do budget for eating out now, lol.)

Dear Father, may we seek to be only your bond servant and not a servant to money or the world. Let us be brave enough to see that when we incurr debt, whether "good" or "bad" it limits us in how we are able to further your kingdom with what You have blessed us with. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen

Are You A One Way Street?

February 26, 2009

Father, how thankful we are that, because of Christ, we now have direct access to You. With Christ as our covering we can approach you blamelessly and talk with You. But let us not make our conversations a one way street by doing all the talking and none of the listening. Help each of us find a way to still our minds and hearts so that we can begin to process the death of Christ. Let us take the time to really understand the sacrifice He made for all and start living our lives in a way that shows Christ we do not tread lightly on the purpose of His Life, Death, and Resurrection. Guide us, Father as we walk the path to the cross and count each step it takes us to get there. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen

I just picked up my devotion for Easter, not realizing that I was a day late as the readings begin on Shrove Tuesday and not Ash Wednesday. Opps. I started this last year but never made it past the first week. Thinking about it, how sad that sounds, I couldn't find 5 minutes a day to spend in the reflection of the Life of our Savior. And as I have been struggling with the issue of obedience to what the Lord is calling me NOT to do, I feel that all has come full circle. See two years ago we decided to homeschool our children and at that time I just had a 5 year old, 32 month old, and pregnant with our 3rd child. Things we very easy, LJ is eager to learn when he is ready. This has taught me to not push subjects before he shows interest or it will just be a headache. So for the last two years it's been smooth sailing, minus several bumpy months last year when Big Daddy was gone. We trudged through and survived. Then all things started to go teeter totter, when I began to implement this one little thing into my prayer. LISTENING. Oh my, what a HUGE difference that made. Too often we forget that God really does know it all!!! So when you want to make decisions or know His will, it really is as simple as listening to what He has to say. Of course, when I felt that I had gotten that LISTENING thing under my belt and thought "I was something", BIG MISTAKE, then God hits me with the Big Whammy. "Alright, L2L, you know what I want you to do, now I want you to do it." REWIND, what was that? Now I have to obey, oooh lets think about that one.

As elementary as that might sound, that is what I have been wrestling with, obeying God. It has given me a compassion for my children as I am starting to understand that at times we want to obey but just don't have the maturity to obey. God has shown me that I need to be more patient with my children in those times that I have to say the same thing over and oveR and ovER and oVER and OVER and OVER. Staying consistent until it clicks. Encouraging them by not changing my expectation AND not discouraging them by getting mad, or short tempered during the time it takes for them to "get it". Just as God has done with me over the last month or so. And so I take my first steps onto the path of obedience, trusting in Him and dying a little bit more to my flesh and living more for Him.

All That I Am by EverAfter

Lord, these lips get me in trouble
So many times a day
I'm so often feeling sorry
For the careless things I say
Your word says deep inside of me
Is where the trouble starts
My mouth just overflows
With what's already in my heart

So starting now
Starting now

Chorus:
All that I am
Is on the altar of You
Change my motivations
Change my attitude
'Cuz I can't change myself
But, Lord I know You can
All that I am is on the altar
So You can alter all that I am

Take this love of reputation
From this prideful heart of mine
Take out the prejudice, the arrogance
The selfishness You find
And if there's unforgiveness
Or some long forgotten grudge
Replace it with humility
Obedience and love

Chorus

I want everything I am
To be all that You're about
So Lord I'm asking You
To make me new
From the inside out

Chorus

Sunday

Day after Day

February 15, 2009

I have often wondered: "How on Earth could the Jewish people missed knowing the Messiah for who he was?" They we not ignorant people and the teachings that they taught, generation after generation was the very Word of God. And then as I read again the fate of Nadab and Abihu, it dawned on me, [Sorry my sweet friend Dawn this was the only word I could think of to articulate my thoughts this morning:)] they were substituting rituals for relationship. And how often are we guilty of doing that. How often do you read your Bible without even thinking about it. Or as you go to church, you just go through the motions because you have always gotten up on Sunday to go to church? I am challenging myself AND you to stop and pause a minute before you go through out your day and actually put some thought into what you are doing. You know why you read your Bible and why you go to church and why you pray, but really live those things out. Take time to prepare your heart, to still your mind, and really give honor to God before you approach Him each day this week.

Father in Heaven, let us not offer a strange fire before you. Let us search our hearts to see how You can use us today. "This is my desire, to be used by you." How can You use us today? Let us humble ourselves and find great joy in the smallest ways as well as the great ways we are used by You to bring the message of Salvation through Jesus Christ to All Nations. In Jesus Name we pray and prepare our hears to worship together before You, Amen

Amazing Love

February 13, 2009

At Valentine's I find myself in awe of our King. He willingly died on the Cross for ALL SIN. Past, Present, and Future. As we enter into the book of Leviticus, the reminder of that Truth swells up within my very soul as we begin to read about the different types of offerings the Israelites were commanded to give.

Why?

Because those offerings were only a sign of things yet to come AND a reminder that because of sin we are not able to go before God on our own. Our price has already been paid, EVERYONE is forgiven their sin. If it were not so then Christ's work on the cross would have been in vain and just like the Israelites we would need our sins atoned for over and over.

BUT

not everyone has accepted the covering of Christ's blood that will redeem them before God. Our salvation is not by our hand but by God's through Jesus. If we chose to accept this gift, our eternity is sealed with Him forever. If however we chose to reject Christ as our only way of being redeemed then we chose an eternity apart from God. So I pose these question to you today?

Do you believe that all your sins are forgiven, past, present, and future?

What do you believe would happen to you if you died today without asking for forgiveness of any sin you have committed?

Does that void the Saving Grace of our Savior?

I believe that we are held responsible for the consequences of our actions but the punishment of sin has already been paid for. I do not live under the authority of the Flesh but by the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit. I believe the very same power that conquered death through Christ, resides in me enabling me to rule over my fleshly desires and live a life that honors God. But all this is not done by my own will power but by the power of our mighty Creator who has always had a plan to redeem His Creation.

What do you believe?

Dear Father, may we grasp the Amazing Love You demonstrated through Christ for us ALL. May we love all as You love all; seeing no difference except that of whether someone has chosen or rejected Your Son, Jesus Christ. Fill our hearts with a longing to reach out to those who do not know You. Just as Your word speaks: Christ did not come of the healthy but the sick. Every believer has within them the life saving antidote. May we not keep it to ourselves but eagerly seek each opportunity to share this life saving message: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen

Worship With Me Sunday: At The Cross

February 8, 2009

Dear Lord, What a great reminder on this Sabbath Day: "I am God, YOUR God." Let us prepare our hearts as we go into our meeting places to honor You. Help us to lay all the worries of the world At The Foot Of The Cross and for the duration of our worship time, focus only on You.

We were created for Your Glory, Your Purpose, Your Will. May we honor You today by giving You our hearts and minds completely. May our one goal today be to meet with You and worship You as our One and Only God. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen

** On Sundays I will begin to pause my play list. I will attempt to have a Worship clip to view, but I think sometimes when we forgo our normal routine it helps us to better prepare our hearts for worship and helps us to "Rest" for the day. Many blessings to you and your family!!

Selah: Less is More

Early in December, I came across the clip below and have been searching for the blog I found it on ever since. I haven't been able to find the blog but decided to look up the clip on You Tube and was successful at locating it. I share it because it had such an impact on me and was the basic of our family motto for 09: Less is More. We are going to strive to spend less money, spend less time watching T.V., spend less time seeking material things so that we have more time for Christ in our every day lives. More resources: both in materials and use of our personal time and efforts to further Christ's Kingdom. Christ's birth is not just a Christmas Story, it is a story of God's great love for us that we should seek out daily to share with others. I encourage you to take the time to watch this short clip and prayerfully consider how less will become more for your family, for yourself.

"don't forget to stop my playlist before starting this clip"

*p.s. this is a scheduled post as we are still making our way across the Pacific Ocean to our tropical home.Any comments left will be returned but it might take several days, thanks for your understanding.

Selah

This is my spot on this blog to share the wisdom God has placed on my heart or something that has been shared with me that I find worthy of sharing.
