Lord Teach Me To Pray: Day 20

July 22, 2009

I am so thankful that Kay touched on prayers not being answered as you thought they would. I love how she points out that it is "we" who miss the mark; not God. She continues with amazing insight that most of us do not exercise: when you get it wrong pick yourself up and dust off those knees and say "I got it wrong Lord." And to that I would like to add, thank the Lord that he has now directed you one step closer to the path He wants you on. Don't be discouraged but encouraged for now you have communication going on, which is the whole purpose of prayer!

Dear Father, let us be encouraged and thankful that you seek to draw us closer to you. You have a plan for our lives, let us seek it out and bring glory to Your name through the way we live our lives. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen

Brandy,

This book is EXCELLENT! I am my usual late lucy self and will need until mid-August to finish. Thank you for the opportunity to join you!!!! This book is way more enjoyable than the summer Beth study I could not manage to keep up with. ;( I am learning a lot about myself...and I love the encouragement Kay provides. I have missed you!!!!!

Love this post and glad to see your precious one on TT!

Lord teach me to pray - what a gift to sit humbly before Him and asking Him to teach us how to pray to Him!

The best book out there on this topic is one I believe you have seen on my blog - With Christ in the School of Prayer by Andrew Murray.

Hugs and blessings,
Jill
