Marching To Our Own Beat

March 19, 2009

School has gone well this week.

We are continuing to make progress with our Inventors and Inventions Study

I even found a poem from The Children's Book of Virtues by William J. Bennett to hang up.

The man who misses all the fun
Is he who says, "It can't be done."
In solemn pride he stands aloof
And greets each venture with reproof.
Had he the power he'd efface
The history of the human race;
We'd have no radio or motor cars,
No streets lit by electric start;
No telegraph nor telephone,
We'd linger in the age of stone.
The world would sleep if things were run
By men who say, "It can't be done."

Here are pics of da Vinci and Galileo

And here is Gutenberg's invention which sparked the Reformation

LJ has been very diligent in memorizing his Spark Verses

....and getting his workbooks done.

JJ has grown a bit bored with our Muffin Match Game so we are going to start working through the ABC's with a Pirate Theme!!

Arghh that should be lots of fun!!!!

Father, let us never forget that first and foremost we are to help set our children onto the path that You have chosen for them. Let us never forget that we are here to mold them into what You desire for them to become and not what we want them to be. Help us see the many blessings You have provided us through all children. They are after all the very example of what you desire for our faith to be like. In Jesus name we pray, Amen
